Information

Eglinton is a Branch of the Pony Club a national organisation for members aged under 21 in the 1st January.

We organise rallies, Camp, competitions and social events for members - aiming to improve the ability of members and their horses/ponies.

Area 19 RallyRallies give members tuition on riding and stable management. They are usually free - money being raised for the tuition from membership fees, open competitions and social events - while some rallies have a small fee for use of facilities, such as indoor arenas or course hire.

Junior CampIn a normal year this gives the chance of over 30 hours of free tuition to members, not including some training for teams!

In addition to rallies we encourage members to take up regular tuition with instructors which we can arrange in groups - see the discipline pages.

Eglinton runs events each year - either Branch competitions, or Open/Interbranch competitions. Annual competitions include a Branch tetrathlon event, Interbranch Cross-Country, One-Day-Event, Team Show Jumping, Friendly Games etc...

The Pony Club encourages Members to take tests which enables them to understand and gain confidence about horse and pony care and riding - aimed at progressive learning.

Achievement BadgeThese include Pony Club Achievement Badge scheme for younger members - a fun way to gain a greater knowledge of horsemanship and the countryside.

Higher tests are accepted by the BHS as an exemption from some Stages of Examination in Riding and Horse Care tests.
