NOVICE CHALLENGE 2009 TYNINGHAME, EAST LOTHIAN |
||||
5TH JULY 2009-07-06 Eglinton sent 2 teams; The Eglinton Foxes: Caitlyn Dodds Taylor Mowat Katie Pearson Morvyn Robertson The Eglinton Hounds: Hamish McIntosh Erin Houston Kirsty McMillan Katie Campbell We had a very early start, Hamish left home at 3.45 am, we left at 4.30am, some of the more sensible ones stabled overnight at Tyningham. We were the 3rd and 4th teams on with no time to walk the cross country in between. The course was fairer than last year with several more technical fences including 2 skinnies and no requirement to jump into the water. Most of the Eglinton riders performed really well with one or two having a ‘blonde moment’ remembering what they were supposed to be doing. Hamish and Duke had a fantastic day by winning their section, so they have qualified for the Novice Championships. Katie Pearson and Summer Breeze were 4th and Kirsty McMillan and The Pikey were 5th in their section. The Eglinton Foxes were 3rd which was great, only missing out qualifying by one place. I think that I can say that on the whole we all had a great day and several lessons have been learnt, roll on next year and the best of luck to Hamish at the Championships. |

Now that Pony Club and RC classes are no longer being held at British Eventing (BE) events - if you want to try affiliated eventing you can participate in British Eventing's Day Ticket scheme.
A day ticket allows you to compete at a competition without the expense of registering. As a PC member you can purchase up to 4 day tickets at £10 instead of the usual £15 for rider, plus £15 for a horse day ticket.
Note: these are an alternative to membership, so competitors must still pay entry fees.
Our 4 closest events are: Auchinleck, Culzean, Eglinton (Barskimming) and Houston and news for this year is that Auchinleck is planning to run an Intro level event.
Members will be able to purchase up to four day tickets.
Day tickets allow you to compete at Intro, Pre-Novice, Novice or Intermediate Novice events. - Click here for a form (2006) to apply for day tickets or visit www.britisheventing.com
- Also now an offer for PC
members to join BE at a reduced rate - see the PCUK site for details.
