Novice Challenge Championships
4th - 5th September 2004

This year training was badly hampered by the weather. We did manage a couple of days, luckily a dry one at Biggershields and one at Auchinleck.

There was a lot of interest in the teams, thankfully, but it did make it rather a headache trying to pick who was to be in the teams. Aftermuch discussion the teams were:

Team 1= Holly Rivett, Heather Ridland, Ainsley Thomson and Jane Geddes
Team 2= Elaine Riley, Claire Geddes, James Sapwell and Neah Evans

The qualifying competition was held at Tyninghame in July and our A team were a very creditable 2nd, thus qualifying for the championships in Chesire. The B team were all stars, but each had there own problems, a huge learning curve and hopefully they will all be back next year for another shot.
There seems to be lots of interested younger members who have been doing lots of events this year. So please if any of you are interested in being in teams, let us know early in the New Year.

The championships, which the team had all been working so hard towards, unfortunately was postponed due to bad weather. It was re-scheduled for the following weekend, but our team were unable to change all of their plans at the last moment.

What a shame after so much preperation and hard work. But many thanks to all the members who tried so hard, do keep up the good work and with luck we'll be heading South in '05.
