Winter Triathlon Series
Frazerburgh Tetrathlon

Thanks to Kirsty Wrightson for writing the following report:

It was a long, hot drive to Aberdeen but after four hours the Gaffney family and ourselves arrived in the centre of Aberdeen at about the same time, where we stayed over night.

In the morning we travelled 5 miles out of Fraserburgh to a place called Philorth Estate courtesy of the Anderson family, where the shooting and running were held.
Tetrathlon 2004The minis and the junior’s class were very big with about 23 in the minis and 24 in the juniors.
When the running began everybody ran together because there were too many people to run individually.

Once the running was all finished some people went to Fraserburgh swimming pool and other sat in the car until it was time for the swimming to start.
There were only 4 lanes in the 25-metre pool so it took a while to finish.

Tetrathlon 2003The prize giving was held a different way from usual and this made it quicker to finish.
I was placed 2nd in the running, 2nd in the swimming, 2nd in the shooting and 2nd overall, Ashley Gaffney got 5th in her run and Claire Gaffney got a special rosette.

It was a great success and well worth the long journey up.
