Eventing 2003

  • Weather was good - in fact the ground was a bit too hard at times for XC!
  • Area 2003 - our Area Novice Challenge team won the competition, qualifying for the Championships.
  • ODE was the largest we've run

2003 Diary
Wed 16th April Area 19 XC Training at Strathearn Eventing With BE accredited instructors a number of Eglinton members went up to school at Strathearn.   
23rd & 25th April Eglinton XC Training At Auchinleck & Strathearn. Few applied for this training, but weather was great for both! Sadly instructor Trish's truck broke down on the way to Strathearn, but thanks to Sarah England who took over instruction for those who made it.   
Sun 27th April PC Area 19 Arena Eventing At Scottish Equi Complex, Lanark. A damp day, though this made the ground a bit slippy it wasn't bad. Well done to Eglinton member Alice Gamper who was placed.  Results
3-4th May Central Scotland Horse Trials at Scone, Perth PC and RC classes at Scone - a wet second day of the event made slippery going. Eglinton member Nicola Jamieson finished 3rd in the PC class, and Fiona Alexander was also competing, but had a couple of stops XC.  Results

Mon 5th May Lanark & Renfrew Junior Arena Event at Rowallan Well done to all - on a blustery day it was good to go indoors after dressage!

11-12th July BE Eglinton ODE BE event with PC class on Barskimming Estate near Mauchline. Well Done to Nicki Jamieson Eglinton member who finished 3rd in PC section. Results (bdwp)
Sun 20th July Strathallan ODE BE event with PC class. Near Gleneagles. Unfortunately balloting at this event meant PC class could not be run  Results
26-27th July Auchinleck Horse Trials BE event with PC/RC sections. Great weather for the event - Well done to Eglinton members Nicki Jamieson who finished 3rd & Elaine Reilly who finished 9th in PC section.  Website
Wed 30th July PC Area 19 Eventing Qualifier Well Done - our Novice Challenge team won the competition - qualifying for the National Championships in Cheshire!!! Held at Hendersyde, Kelso.

Sat 9th August Houston House ODE BE event with PC/RC classes. Held near Houston, Glasgow. There were 2 very hot days at the event - Houston Website

Sun 17th August Eglinton Cross Country Cancelled just after we announced it as major work on drainage and hedgerows meant the field was unusable.  
23rd-24th August National Novice Team Championships Held near Smallwood, Cheshire. SJ & Dressage on 23rd, Eventing on 24th How they got on!!
Sat 30th August East Lothian PC Junior ODE Held at Tyninghame, Haddington
