How did the Eglinton Teams do then - if you don't want to look through the full results - here's a summary with pics!!
Firstly Pre-Novice - we had four teams competing!!

A: Ewan Hammersley, Mary Pearson, David Ingram and Rachel Offer |
| B: Charlotte Geddes, Laura Graham, Chelsea Burns and Rachel Offer | ![]() |
C: Hannah Hunter, Sophie
Harvey, Kate Sapwell and Kirsty Wrightson
D: Ann Jones, Holly Drummond, Kate Sapwell, Holly Kennedy
Both the C's and D's finished on faults in a competition that saw quite
a few riders tumbling off (none of which were ours!).
There were 4 teams out of the eleven that went forward to the jump off - including
our A and B teams.
Lanark & Upperward's team was first to go setting the pace with a good clear. The B's followed - with Chelsea setting a very fast clear, which East Stirling could not beat. The A's were last to go with Rachel. The round was again very fast - putting the team 2nd - just behind the A's.
Class
1 - Pre-Novice - Full Results
Novice - this was the largest class of the day with 14 teams competing including 3 of ours. The course was changed from the Pre-Novice thanks to Stephen our course builder for the day.
| A: Alice Gamper, Katie Offer, Heather Ridland and Holly Rivett | ![]() |

B: Clare Geddes, Megan Wilson, Ricki McCloy and Lucinda Stewart |
C: Donna Smith, Holly Drummond, Kathryn Ellison and Jenny Wilson
The Novice class saw a lot of clear rounds - with 7 teams finishing the
second round without faults.
Our C team finished on 12 faults mainly from the first round.
The A's and B's went through to a jump off.
Alice jumped for the A's with 3 teams to go, so had to push on for a fast time, unfortunately she had 2 fences down (though she did set the fastest time!). The B team had the advantage of going last so Heather knew what to do - a round which took the team a second ahead of the other teams to win the class. The A's finished 6th.
Class
2 - Novice - Full Results
Dengie - there were 42 competitors riding in the individual Dengie qualifier, so the competition was tough with a lot of fences knocked down.
10 riders from Eglinton were riding of which 4 got through to the jump off: Caroline Jones, Lauren Grey, Katie Offer and Katie Fergusson.
Out of 22 in the jump off only 6 jumped clear - getting a placing. Well done to Eglinton's Caroline Jones who finished 6th on a nice clear round, and Katie Fergusson with a quick clear over a twisty course to take 2nd place and qualify for the Area Final at Rowallan.
Class
3 - Dengie - Full Results
Intermediate - again a lot of clears in the intermediate with 10 teams competing. Eglinton had 3 teams in this class.
| A: Hannah Hunter, Laura Wild, Leonie Dunlop and Linda Kemp | ![]() |
![]() |
B: Kathryn Fergusson, Neah Evans, Heather Ridland and Elaine Riley |
C: Caroline Jones, Calum Evans, Claire Wickman and Susie Macbain
Our C team finished on 7 faults (7 from the first round and none from the second over the raised course!). Four teams went through to the jump off including our A's and B's.
Nithsdale jumped first setting a fairly quick clear, but Katie for the B's followed and flew round the course at a speed that looked like it couldn't be bettered (26.72). The A's came in with Hannah really attacked the course - not even slowed much by a buck Witch put in half way round - and it was too close to judge coming to the last fence - the clock stopped on 26.80 ever so close! The course was the same route as for the Pre-Novice, and the times almost as fast despite being on much larger ponies! Final placings - B's 1st, A's 2nd.
Class
4 - Intermediate - Full Results
Open - we didn't have a team from Eglinton in the Open, but 2 teams were competing - with West Perth unfortunately eliminated in the first round the competition was decided without evan a second round, so competitors were allowed to school over the course for their second round. Nithsdale won the Open.
