Area 19 Tetrathlon

Six members made the trip to Dunbar for the Area 19 Tetrathlon competition hosted this year by East Lothian PC. Heather Ridland and Katie Ferguson competed as juniors. Competition was stiff as the Northern Ireland teams, although not part of area 19, traditionally come over to this competition and both our girls are relatively young juniors. Heather was 4th overall and the highest placed Scottish competitor, she also won the Area 19 junior section. Katie was 6th.

Promisingly, we also had a team of 4 mini girls – Claire Geddes, Rachel Offer, Kirsty Wrightson and Claire Gaffney. They came 4th in the mini team competition and our reappearance in Area Team Tetrathlon delighted the official steward for the competition, Eglinton’s own Sally Snodgrass, who was heavily involved in the days when Eglinton were very strong in this discipline.

Despite mixed weather conditions we all had a great time, the organisation was very good and very well done to all who took part. Thanks to the parents who supported the pre competition training and the long haul to Dunbar.
