Senior A Team Report 2002

We lost the whole team at the end of 2000, and four members last year, which has meant starting each time with a new team. This led to a nervous start to the year, with a team that improved all year.

The return of Poppy was like a breath of fresh air, which gave the team more flexibility.

The team were more confident after winning the Zone competition – qualifying for the week-long Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) at NEC Birmingham.

The opposition at HOYS was strong, but the team started well and came a credible third in the Robinson's Cup - the warm up competition. Unfortunately a couple of disappointing sessions in the Prince Philip Cup meant that they did not qualify for the final night, though spirits remained high - aided by the large number of supporters chanting “Egi, Egi, Egi!.

This was a year of learning!
