Junior B Team Report 2002

The Junior Bs have had a very successful season this year. The team consisted of Mary Pearson who rode the old faithful Sugar for most of the year and Archie for the final few competitions, Laura Graeme with Breeze (more like a hurricane on some occasions), Lucy (give him a whack) Stewart with Skye, Claire Geddes on the evergreen Tufty and Katie Offer on Silver. They were helped out on numerous occasions by Holly Drummond on Tommy when we were short of numbers, and by TeeJay when a more experienced pony was needed.

They started off the season with some very creditable performances at Bishopbriggs but improved considerably as the season went on partly through their hard work at the practises and partly though the promise of chocolate for a good performance (who says bribery doesn't work!). They came third at the Area finals and qualified for the Zones behind the A team and Kirky. They were the only B team to reach the Zone finals at Lanark where they finished in 6th place behind some good competition from both Scottish and Irish teams. Perhaps their best performances this season were when they were placed second by one point at the Edinburgh competition and second to the Eglinton A team at the West Perth competition at Doune.
Thanks must go to Jim Graeme for helping the kids to have a fun season.

Well done the B team. Keep it up for next year!
